From the small market town Northallerton, North Yorkshire UK. Studied GCSE Double award art and AS Level art, to sketch for survival finalist and award winning artist.
Ever since a young girl, I loved animals. My biggest admiration was horses. My first encounter with horses was my great grandads farm sowerby grange Sutton under topcliffe, a farm with great history to the local area. My first visit my Great grandad and his son( my grandad ), were breaking in a young horse. The fields were full of a herd with different breeds and foals. From this I become obsessed and started constantly drawing horses. This lead to a new passion of art in many forms and furthering my passion for animals.
As a teenager I worked at a pet shop aquatic finatic and volunteered at my local vets in aim to have a career working with animals.
During beginning of adulthood, I didn’t really do a lot, I painted here and there. As during school and college I never used colour pencils as a medium, I mainly used watercolour and acrylic paints. It wasn’t till I saw Kate Simpson using pencils till I had even considered using them. I used them for a short while whilst also doing make up artistry. From there I saw the world of art on TikTok and decided to post my artwork on there after seeing fellow artists live I had great guidance from the first artist I came across on TikTok Lorna Dandy Animal Art who also uses colour pencils. whilst becoming friends with artists on TikTok I became part of a great community. I had great success stepping out as equine artists with my numbers quickly rising and my 2nd horse original going viral in hours. With all this I have never turned back and continue.
As a full time artist now, my goal is always to capture the soul and character of every animal draw whether pet or wildlife. I now heavily focus on conservation. A massive part of that for me is marine life such as sharks and whales. In 2023 I drew my first shark a great white and have been addicted to drawing more and more. I also take part in fundraising and bringing awareness to conservation and endangered animals all over the world. In 2023 I was1 of 100 finalists in sketch for surviva, a global art competition where they received over 4000 entries with my graphite piece “Acalan” a jaguar. This was my first competition I had taken part in.
